Lieutenant Richard Arthur Grove Annesley

 

 

Richard Arthur Grove Annesley, of Annesgrove, Castletownrocks, Co. Cork, was born on 20 June 1879, the son of Richard Grove Annesley and Sarah Augusta Ruth (nee Bolster). He was educated at Harrow (1894-97).

Commissioned as a 2nd Lieutenant and posted to the North Irish Horse on 2 July 1915, six months later he embarked for France with D Squadron, and soon after was promoted to Lieutenant.

He was posted to the reserve regiment of the North Irish Horse at Antrim on 7 June 1918, was demobilized on 25 March 1919, and relinquished his commission on 1 April 1920.

Annesley died at Cork on 4 February 1966.
